Find out how you can be part of the solution and meet new people by applying to Leadership Green Bay at www.leadershipgreenbay.org Applications are now being accepted and only the 1st, 50 applications will be considered! Leadership Green Bay is a Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Program that will teach you about different aspects of the community including the history, educational system, the economy, non-profits and government. This one year program starts in September with a 2 day retreat where you will get to meet over 39 different individuals and learn team building skills. From October to May you will spend 1 day away from the office learning about these different aspects of the community and how you can help make this a better place to live and work.
Sounds as if you and I think alike! I was so anxious to sign up for this last group, but missed the application deadline! (thought it was August but it was May, I believe). As it turns out, would have been ideal since I've been 'temporarily' out of work for nearly a year! Anyhow,am still looking for leadership training and opportunities to serve our community. We definitely need more optimistic 'movers and shakers'. Actually, I'm currently working on a biz plan for a new Cultural Heritage nonprofit. If you happen to know anyone out of work or 'underemployed', I could use a business savvy planning partner! Thanks for your post and the info on "Leadership".
